It would be great if she is able to communicate in German too, though not native German speaker, because she took language courses at Goethe Institute or school / college, or because she is living in a country with German speaking minority ( e.g. former German colonies like Namibia, Tansania, Burundi und Ruanda ).
Or because you are living in Germany, or in a neighbour country ( Netherlands, Belgium, Luxemburg, Liechtenstein... ) where German is also spoken.
