About Him
Born in Zim, I now live in QLD Australia. As I have dual citizenship I hope to split my time by also living in RSA. I have not long got home after a 44 day holiday in RSA; 30 days in the Cape and a fornight in the North mainly in KNP. Brilliant trip and brought back lots of memories.
I have a wide range of interests, esp politics, world affairs and business. Am a person who believes strongly in Human Rights, justice and fairness.
I have experienced a varied life and have travelled widely (often hitch-hiking) throughout Southern Africa,NZ & Oz, where i have my base. Also lived/worked in several third world and European countries.
Apart from owning a couple of houses, I never have a huge amount of money, but always seem to obtain the things I need. I spend my money on travelling and exploring, rather than material stuff.
I am semi-retired but still have a small busines. I describe my financial situation as 'secure and comfortable'.
I don't watch much TV apart from British serials eg 'Line of Duty'. I much prefer quick-witted banter and vibrant debate... and esp sharing ideas. I WANT someone with opinions about issues.
Enjoy the excitement at major horse races . Appreciate good food and (fortunately) I do like the cooking as I do ALL of it! sigh. I never buy takeaway food.
Looking to lose about 18 kg but am fit&healthy. Love long walks esp hiking in bush and mountains.

My heroes include Orwell, Gandhi, Scott(Antartic) and political prisoners. Support Amnesty International. I admire people who have the courage to speak out for issues they believe in, often putting themselves at severe risk. Am always skeptical but...

Intelligent, well-educated, sensitive, considerate, affectionate and trustworthy. Must love kissing and touching. Can see the irony/absurdity of life/situations. Quick witted, young-at-heart, widely read and willing to debate issues, esp sharing ideas about what to expect when in our late sixties. eg are we realistic, or clinging to a semi-fictional ideal? Do you feel time slips by and you've not made the most of it?
An interest in world affairs, in business, wildlife, birdlife, and travelling would make a fine companion. I like to snorkel and enjoy bush/mountain hiking. Do you?

My current situation is complicated and I'm willing to explain provided you are genuinely interested in me.
I'm content just to have someone i can meaningfully correspond with. I am also very interested in someone to travel around RSA/Namibia with. We use you place as a base, your car/SUV but split all other costs exactly 50:50. Of course I pay for my airfare entirely from my own pocket.
